SATURDAY: Light, Full-Bodied & Screwed (Hookup Café Book 6) Page 7
“Is there a ring that goes with this?”
“Just like a woman, it’s all about the ring.” I shook my head and with a free hand, I reached down, pulled out a small box from my front pocket, and handed it to her. “Will this do?”
Releasing my neck, she said, “We’ll see,” with a giggle and unsnapped the tap on top. Her gasp I took to mean that she was pleased with the diamond ring in her hand, and I slid her down my body to be able to take a knee in front of her.
“Since the day… night you wormed your way into my kitchen area and claimed your Saturday seat I knew I was totally screwed in the best way imaginable. You took my breath away with your beautiful face and perfectly shaped assets. Your pushy personality blew me away and I loved it from the start. You sparked something in me. You always made me feel so important. I wanted you to feel the same way. But you scared the hell out of me talking about freedom and independence. Deacon said I was a pussy and that I should just throw you over my shoulder and take you back to my cave.”
We both laughed as we said in unison, “Poor, Saylor.”
“I waited patiently and I waited for a sign. When you mentioned the abandoned restaurant, my heart leapt in my chest for two reasons; the idea of having my own bistro and the fact that I would be near you or, better yet, with you forever. When you hinted at being in love with me that was it, I was a goner for you. That feeling I want to continue until death us do part. I love you, Darla. Will you marry me?”
“Yes, yes, yes. I will love you until I die and beyond.” She knocked me over onto the unfinished floor after I slipped the ring on her finger and attacked my face with a million kisses, not missing a spot, and I laughed. “My face to look at forever. I love it… I love you.”
I echoed her words, “I love you,” which incited even more kisses.
Only my crazy, light, full-bodied beauty would accept a proposal in such an odd way and I knew that my life with her would be anything but boring and I wouldn’t have it any other way… being totally screwed was not a bad thing at all when I got the prize. Moving us off of the floor, I placed her gently in the middle of the scattered petals so we didn’t pop the air mattress, and then claimed what was mine.

About the Author
Fifi Flowers, an internationally known artist turn author from the Los Angeles area of California, writes romance novels and paints fantasies with a Parisian flair while daydreaming of her time spent sipping café crème in the cafés of Paris.
She penned her love of Paris and romance to the pages of her first novel, A Window to Love, published in 2013, when she sat down, and instead of putting paint to paper, put her pen to paper and began her first novel. Since that first novel, Fifi has self-published several steamy contemporary romances and has many more in the works.
